Welcome to the Wood Buffalo Cycling Club!

The Wood Buffalo Cycling Club offers a friendly environment for recreational road riding and mountain biking, as well as training, touring, fat boy winter rides. We are an Alberta Bicycling Association (ABA) member club. The WBCC is Fort McMurray’s only cycling club. We offer a wide selection of rides throughout the Wood Buffalo Municipality and beyond.

Our members cover a wide cross-section of the cycling world. We have a good mix of male and female members of all ages (from teens to seniors) and at every skill level, from beginners to competitors.

We have rides initiating from a variety of locations across Fort McMurray and on almost every day of the week, in season. Check out our Ride Calendar for our scheduled rides. Our road ride locations are fairly limited in Fort McMurray to north or south of the city. Mountain Bikers have a greater selection of trails. We have rides for almost everyone, regardless of ability or prior cycling experience. All members are covered under ABA insurance while on ABA and Club sponsored rides and events.

We have excellent ride captains who know the routes and keep the pack in check. Check out the Road Rides or MTB Rides page for more information on the right group for you.

If you are looking for a cycling club that offers a welcoming atmosphere, helpful advice, a sure fire way to get fit, and a wealth of riding routes close to your home, then you would enjoy the Wood Buffalo Cycling Club. Review our website, or contact us with any questions.

If you would like to try out a ride before committing to a membership, check out our Try and Buy ride calendar. When you decide to join the WBCC, click on the Membership Information page for details on our online registration process.

Ride safe and we’ll see you on the roads and trails soon!

We also offer bike maintenance, learn-to-ride, and learn-to-race seminars. These instructional sessions provide information on technical racing, general riding tips, and proper bike fit by our fully-qualified members. During the winter months, the club offers indoor spin sessions.
